The San Diego Italian Film Festival Announces New Board Co-Chairs

San Diego, CA — The San Diego Italian Film Festival (SDIFF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Stefania Bruschi and Fabrizio Scippa as new Board Co-Chairs. Both have previously served as members of the SDIFF’s Board of Directors and now step into this shared leadership role as the Festival prepares for a landmark moment: its 20th anniversary in 2026.

They succeed Jennifer Davies, who is stepping down from the Board Chair role after dedicated service and visionary leadership during a critical time for the organization. The Festival celebrates Jennifer's impactful chairship and extends its profound gratitude for her steadfast dedication, wisdom, and heart during a deeply significant period in SDIFF's history. Under her guidance, the Festival not only persevered but flourished, strengthening its mission and deepening its impact on the community. Jennifer will continue to support SDIFF as a valued advocate, ensuring her expertise remains woven into the Festival's future. “As SDIFF approaches its 20th anniversary, it’s a natural moment of transition,” said Jennifer Davies. “I’m incredibly proud of how far the Festival has come and grateful to have been part of its journey. I’m confident that Stefania and Fabrizio will lead SDIFF forward with care, creativity, and purpose. Their combined experience, complementary skill sets, and deep connection to both Italian culture and the San Diego community make them ideal leaders for this next chapter.”

Stefania Bruschi is Associate Director of Informatics Section at the USC Alzheimer's Therapeutic Research Institute, where she leads the development of large-scale clinical research platforms. A native of Carpi, Italy, Stefania brought her talents and love of Italian culture to San Diego in 2006, where she has built deep roots in the community. "I'm truly honored to step into this role at such a meaningful milestone for SDIFF," said Stefania. "As we approach the Festival's 20th anniversary, I'm committed to strengthening its long-term sustainability while championing the innovation, inclusion, and vibrant community connections that make SDIFF so special.”

Fabrizio Scippa brings more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of creativity, branding, and digital design. Recognized for combining Italian sophistication with American efficiency, he brings a thoughtful, strategic approach to visual communication, specializing in brand identity and website design. Before founding Fabrizio Scippa Grafica in 2011, Fabrizio served as Creative Director for a range of organizations, where he led brand and design initiatives across print and digital platforms. Born and raised in Rome, his creative sensibility is deeply influenced by the clean, minimalist principles of modern Italian design, which continue to inform his approach today.

“The 20th anniversary is not just a celebration of the past, but a chance to reimagine the future,” said Fabrizio. “I’m honored to help shape SDIFF’s next phase — honoring its heritage while evolving its visual identity, voice, and reach for generations to come.”

As Board Co-Chairs, Stefania Bruschi and Fabrizio Scippa will work closely with the Board of Directors, Executive Director, Artistic Director and staff to guide SDIFF’s strategic direction, expand community engagement, and further elevate the Festival’s role as a cultural bridge between Italy and San Diego.
