Pops is a font of manual knowledge in old-world practices often inscrutable to his granddaughter, Anna. His self-sufficiency leaves little patience for a young dependent in his life while the maintenance of a cherished accordion keeps him cloaked in the pain of the past. When the demands of raising a young girl break both his concentration and the instrument, he’s recalled to life in the present. Reminded of what they share, Pops has an opportunity to both mend his relationship with Anna and pass his skill set. But before they can succeed, they’ll need to make a small-time heist and Anna revisits a recent foe in the process. The cross-generational pair persists so that the squeezebox may breathe again.
