Meet Chef Max Farina
Chef Max Farina’s journey began in a small pizzeria in the Sicilian town of Mazara de Vallo. Here he perfected the craft of the “white art,” learning the fundamental nuances of exact flour mixtures as well as levitation processes to create a magnificent Neapolitan-style pizza. At the acclaimed culinary school Alma, Chef Farina found his mentor, two-star Michelin Chef Claudio Sadler of Milan, a maestro of modern cooking techniques and artistic plating, and worked alongside two-star Michelin Chef Andre Aprea. Relocating to San Diego in 2011, he presented fine cuisine as a sous chef at BICE restaurant and now shares his passion for serving the finest Italian cuisine with Zafferano Catering.
