An artist of international renown, sculptor, painter, master print-maker, photographer and glass artisan, Italo Scanga is indicative of the important infusion and results of the meeting of Italian popular culture and what we might call “high” art. Lest I lead anyone astray, I should clarify that what I have called popular art is not a lesser art by any means.
