San Diego Italian Film Festival Student and Open Categories
$3,500 in cash prizes

For the first time the San Diego Italian Film Festival (SDIFF), with major recently released Italian films and a Gala Reception planned for October 2008, will include a competition for filmmakers with cash prizes. Winning entries will be shown, during the Festival, on the large screen of the beautiful Museum of Photographic Arts (MoPA) theatre in Balboa Park.

Three categories of films may be submitted. The first two, for students, must be on any aspect of Italy or Italians—food, art, culture, family, cars, fashion, films, sports, history, politics, architecture. The third category is Open to anyone, and must have a Ferrari motors theme in celebration of its 60th anniversary. All entries must be less than 15 minutes in running time, and must be submitted, on a DVD, by September 1, 2008.

The three categories of entries with prizes are:

                         I  Student. Senior in High School or below in June 2008.       Italian theme  
                            First prize $750   Second prize $500   Third prize $250

                        II Student. Freshman in College or above in June 2008          Italian theme  
                            First prize $750   Second prize $500   Third prize $250

                        III Open to anyone.                                                                 Ferrari motors theme
                            One prize $500
