Tor Bella Monaca and the Tiber river

Italy is not known for superhero movies, nor do superhero movies tend to take home top honors at awards shows for anything but special effects, yet Lo Chiamavano Jeeg Robot was the recipient of numerous awards last season including the David di Donatello, Globo d’oro, and  Ciack d’oro. Italy even submitted Jeeg as their pick for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2017 Academy Awards, though it was not officially nominated.
